WHAT TO EXPECT
AFTER YOUR VI PEEL

Each of the VI Peels are moderate chemical peels meaning they are medium depth penetration and will likely cause the treated skin to peel. After a VI Peel in Jacksonville at First Coast Plastic Surgery, most patients experience some redness and dryness. But most go right back to their daily activities. Skin will feel dry and tight as the top layer of skin prepares to peel away. Skin will begin to flake away in approximately 3 to 5 days, (when it is ready). It is important to allow the peeling process to happen at its own pace. rubbing or peeling skin that has not peeled by itself can result in pigmentation problems and scarring because the new skin underneath is not ready for the environment yet. New skin is ready when it sheds the old layer above it. In the days right after your VI peel, some spots may appear darker but the new skin underneath will not be.

To preserve the results of your VI Peel, only use gentle cleansers and gentle moisturizers. Remember your skin is brand new and will need to be pampered. And brand new skin must also be protected from the sun.
